Gun Plain Township officials wanted to make sure Plainwell-based Drug and Lab knew their efforts were appreciated.
The firm accepts hazardous waste in small quantities from township residents.
“Our board really appreciates the time they take to accept things like that from our residents,” Supervisor Mike VanDenBerg said.
The township directs people to Drug and Lab when they call seeking a drop off location for hazardous waste, often old paint and other chemicals.
“Usually what happens is someone dies and then someone else goes to clean out the garage and sees things that have been there for 30 years and they don’t have any idea what they are,” VanDenBerg said.
The board gave the firm a certificate of appreciation at its October regular meeting.
