Plainwell city officials think contractors have won their race against winter and will have paving done on North Prince Street this week.
The city contracted with Wightman and Associates of Allegan and project engineer Phil Doorlag said everything was on track at the Monday, Nov. 13, city council meeting.
Doorlag said, “The project is one time and one budget.
“They’ll finish paving Friday and then shut down for the year.”
Curb and gutter, along with sewer and water infrastructure is done and the contractors will just have to come back in the spring to put another coat of asphalt on the street. The same company is also paving the parking lot at the planned Sweetwater’s Donut Mill location and should do it at the same time, Doorlag said.
Contractors plan to pave the whole North Prince Street extension.
